Description

Circa 1840, early Victorian circular rosewood centre table or breakfast table. The top is in well-figured rosewood, in mirrored sections. Beneath the top is a large block and the table stands on an unusual turned and tapered column with a large carved bulbous section in the centre. There is a foliate carving and a further ring turn beneath this. Standing on 3 squat, sturdy cabriole legs with S and C-scrolls at the base at the back and finished with a foliate carving on the fore-edge. Beneath this are steel and wooden castors.
