Very unusual original French c19th vigneron or vineyard table with original embossed leather top and with gilt tooling.
Originally, these tables were stored tilted between the vineyard barrels and pulled out for use when tasting. Which would suggest that this particular table was used in an extremely smart vineyard!
The condition of this table is very good throughout. The leather top does of course have some age marks, but it is not torn anywhere. The leather has been fed and polished, along with the cherrywood frame below.
This would make a superb centre table in a hall perhaps, but could also work as a dining table.
Very decorative and a rare item to find in such good condition. Typically, you will find these with a wooden top.
Measuring:
28 1/4” or 71.5cm high
43 1/4” or 110cm diameter
27 1/2” or 70cm under table top height
48 3/4” or 124cm height when tilted
