Regency Rosewood Games & Sofa Table

Description

A good quality late Regency or William IV period rosewood GAMES/SOFA TABLE in fine original condition.

The top features a sliding centre section which when removed and turned over, reveals the inlaid chess and draughts board, whilst the original gilt-tooled leather backgammon board is revealed in the "?well"? below.

To either side of the frieze are two small drawers (for chess & backgammon pieces etc) and it is supported on tapering and faceted legs leading to pretty carved collars; small platforms and well-carved feet with original castors concealed below. Complete with a Regency period white and red-stained bone chess set. 30ins wide; 18ins deep; 28.5ins high.
