Victorian Marquetry Inlaid Circular Centre Table

A beautiful Exhibition quality Victorian marquetry inlaid centre table. The circular top with six satinwood cartouches each finely inlaid with different images of birds and foliage, superb detailing including mother-of-pearl inlaid serpent with scarlet red tongue and white highlights to the birds eyes and small flowers. The cartouches profusely surrounded by scrolling inlays of kingwood, burr walnut and other veneers, all set into a rosewood ground. The ebonised base on three cabriole legs with a scrolling frieze and stretchers centred by a reeded and tulip carved finial. On brass and white ceramic castors stamped ‘C & C’ for Cope & Collinson. In very good condition, there is a small repair to the very centre of the top and a small blemish at the edge however this stunning table has been sympathetically cleaned, polished and waxed ready for immediate use.
