Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the Regency era.
Below the finely figured top with its reeded edges are two oak-lined drawers with finely-figured fronts and original double-turned handles, whilst the table is raised on shaped, reeded and turned supports leading to 'hipped' sabre legs terminating in fine quality castors. 42ins wide when closed; 68ins wide open; 27.5ins deep; 29ins high.
There are some distinct Gillows features present in this table: note the figuring to the top which carries on right through both" drop" leaves; the handles are very "Gillowsesque" as are the reeded and turned uprights.
