Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The nice shape legs are reed moulded to the tops and have original intricate patera to the tops. The solid mahogany top is of dense wood and has a double reed moulding around the edge. The table has a drawer in one end and a dummy drawer in the other and is inlaid with ebony stringing. The top flaps are double gated underneath when the table is fully open. The table has been made from very good quality mahogany and is perfectly stable. The top has been sympathetically re-polished in Edwardian times.
The table is in very good condition and is a good size. Would seat 6 people easily.
SIZE; 46" wide by 41" deep by 29 1/2" high when fully open. 21" across with the leaves down.
CIRCA; 1810 - 1820
