Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The whole piece is beautifully inlaid with boxwood stringing all over. The top with narrow cross banded top and very nice faded green leather which is possibly original. The unusual feature to the top is the small brass inlaid ebonised gallery to the end sections which is definitely original.

The drawers are all cedar lined with the left hand one having its original Gerogian patented lock with original working key. The mounts are all gilded brass and also all original.
The table is in very good condition for its age with no significant damage or repairs. There is a small old repair to the base of one of the legs near the castor which is hardly noticable and the platform base section had a couple of very minor filled shakes.
