Pair of 19th Century Chinese Elm Side Tables

Description

Circa 1880, unusual pair of Chinese elm stained side tables or stands. With panel top and the joint from the base shown at each corner, they have a simple rounded edge and a flat panel above a curved frieze. Four narrow stretchers have a slightly chamfered fore-edge, connecting tapering legs which finish on the classic Chinese block foot.
