Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Georgian style oak provincial side table, which has been constructed in the Victorian period, circa 1860, displaying a lovely rich colour and patination, in excellent original condition. The table incorporates a simple four-plank top above a single drawer.
The oak-lined drawer is constructed with butt joints, runs smoothly and closes flush to the frame. Below, the table is raised on simple turned baluster legs, which are united by stretchers, giving the item additional strength. The table features the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional method.
Condition Report:
This table is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, drawer front and top, but nothing significant considering the age of the item (see photos). The drawer is in good working order and closes flush to the frame. The drawers retain the original brass handles and escutcheons. The table features the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional joined construction method. The table boasts a lovely rich dark colour and patination. This table is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
