A very unusual and elegant Georgian period mahogany tea table. The table stands on tapered legs with pedestal bases and are united by fretwork brackets at the top. The back legs unusually stand at the middle of the back and swing out on a double gate to support the fold over top, to make a nice profile on three sides of the table. There is a central drawer with brass knob handle. The top is solid Cuban mahogany with good figuring and untouched colour and patina. There are some expected marks of age and use to the top. The whole is in untouched country house condition and has a wonderful elegant period look. The table is of usable small proportions and would sit happily as a hall table. C.1780.
