Fine Bird's Eye Maple and Rosewood Table

A fine late Regency bird's eye maple and rosewood occasional table. The table is a very elegant and a simple design with clean lines, Neoclassical in design. The base has concave sides with small rosewood bun feet, a simple rosewood collar at the base and a faceted stem. The top is again a simple design with a foldover top that must have been either so the table could be used for tea or cards. The table is overall in bird's eye maple but everywhere it is contrasted with rosewood, which gives a dramatic impact to the design overall. The condition is excellent and it has a good original patina. The whole is an unusual and very decorative occasional table in good country house condition. C.1830.
