Dutch Marquetry with Bone and Ebony Inlay Side Table

19th century
Description

Stunning late c19th Dutch marquetry with bone and ebony inlay side table or lamp table with ebonised barley twist column legs and this lovely cross stretcher with further bone and ebony inlays.

The table has a full width drawer which is lined with what looks to be the original watermarked silk lining. This does have some marks to it, but nice to see the original, so I have left it. If you would rather it be removed, please let me know.

This highly decorative and unusual table is a piece that can stand alone to be admired, perhaps as a lamp table in a living room or perhaps could work as a low hall table. Wherever it is to be used, it will look amazing in amongst other furnishings.

The top is decorated with its original rosewood marquetry, surrounded with box wood. The white bone and ebony inlays running around the whole top and there is a pale rosewood to the frieze below ( where the full width drawer is, also in typical original condition ).

The four original ebonised barley twist legs and further pale rosewood stretcher, again finished with white bone and ebony inlays.

Being finished on all sides, the table can be used to free stand, please see the photos showing it from all sides. The condition is very good, fully restored with only very minor signs of age marks. This is a super piece and has been well restored, bringing it back to its original glory.

Measuring:

28 1/4” or 72cm high

32 3/4” or 83cm wide

21 3/4” or 55cm deep

23 1/2” from floor to underside of the drawer

Delivery to most England, Wales and Scotland addresses at £55 +vat, but please send me your postcode if you are a bit remote or coastal as it could be more...or you are very welcome to collect from me in Uppingham, Rutland
