Description:
This is a superb quality antique English George IV solid mahogany drop leaf Pembroke dining table, circa 1830, displaying stunning figured mahogany top, which seats up to 6 persons and is in excellent original condition. The table comfortably seats up to 6 persons (see photos).
The table is raised on lovely turned tapering legs, with ring turnings at the knees, which terminate on the original solid brass cup castors. The table incorporates two solid mahogany “drop leaves”, which can be opened to extend the size of table, supported by hinged folding tapering legs below. The table can be configured in a multitude of ways, depending on how many chairs are to be used with the table. With the leaves extended, the table can seat up to 6 people. With only one leaf, the table can seat between 2-4 people. This ability to be configured in so many different ways allows the table to be utilised in the best way possible according to room size and intended use. When the table is not in use, the leaves can be lowered and the table stored, to act as a centre table or console table against a wall.

Condition Report:
This dining table is excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item. The table has been traditionally French polished in our workshop therefore the colour and form of the table is in excellent condition and the tops are free from any stains, scratches or marks. The table therefore boasts a rich mahogany colour and patination. The table retains the original brass castor cups and castors, which are in good condition. The table has been made from top quality mahogany timber; it is well constructed, solid in join and ready to use.
