Description:
The top consists of lovely burr walnut mirror matched walnut quarter veneers, under a removable glass panel. The glass panel top is practical in order to protect the French polish finish. Below is a moulded serpentine edge, with foliate carvings at the corners, on a solid walnut frame and legs, above a simple frieze. The table is supported by four prominent cabriole legs, which at the knees, feature elegant foliate carvings on pad feet. This is a well-constructed and solid table; this is evident in the weight of the table itself.
Condition Report:
This coffee table is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The glass top exhibits nominal signs of wear and tear and is most likely the original glass. The table is constructed with top quality materials and construction methods. The top is constructed from a solid walnut frame with stunning quality burr walnut veneers. All of the foliate carvings to the mouldings are intact. This is a well-constructed and solid table; this is evident in the weight of the table itself. It is solid in joint (does not wobble) and is ready to use.
