Spectacular John Taylor & Son Antique Victorian Burr Ash Writing Table

Stamped by the Renowned Cabinet Makers John Taylor And Son Edinburgh this Spectacular Victorian Burr Ash Writing Table is a lovely example of a true quality piece. It has a rectangular moulded top with early red leather tooled writing insert and the back section has an unusual lift up lid with a stationary compartment and two ink wells. The lower section has an ash lined drawer with moulded edge and the original decorative turned handles, unusual corner brackets and beautiful decorative carved motifs. This spectacular table stands on turned reeded legs with quality brass cup castors. The opposite side is mirrored with a faux drawer so may be placed in the centre of the room if so desired. The Burr Ash has aged to a mellow shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
