Unusual Large 18th Century Oval Centre Table

Description

Very unusual large size 18th century, George 3rd oval shaped Cuban mahogany centre table. I think this is probably Irish in origin and was possibly originally a form of wake table. Square tapered legs with original brass castors. The frame is curved on the long sides and straight on the small sides with a small astragal type moulding around the bottom edge. The table has not been adapted. The lovely oval shape top is one piece. The table is a very nice colour throughout with original patination and waxed finish.

The underneath turns up lovely, the only restoration is there are old replacement blocks to the corners of the frame underneath.

Great size and shape. Finished all round.

The table has not been adapted. The lovely oval shape top is one piece. The table is a very nice colour throughout with original patination and waxed finish.
