We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian kitchen work tables were produced during the early 20th century, typically between 1901 and 1910. They are characterised by sturdy timber construction, simple geometric forms, plank tops, and practical tapered or turned legs designed for everyday utilitarian tasks.

Oak and pine were the primary timbers utilised for utility tables during the Edwardian era due to their density and strength. Solid oak was particularly favoured for commercial prep spaces and larger country house kitchens requiring hard-wearing surfaces.

Authentic pieces generally feature traditional joinery such as hand-cut dovetails or mortise and tenon joints. Marks from historical hand tools, natural shrinkage gaps between top planks, and uneven wear patterns on the timber surface also indicate genuine age.

These tables are commonly integrated into contemporary kitchens as standalone island units or preparation stations. They can also serve as dining tables in open-plan living spaces or rustic desks in home offices.

Regular dusting with a soft cloth and periodic applications of clear beeswax nourish the oak wood. Spills should be wiped immediately to prevent timber staining, and direct contact with high heat or excess moisture should be avoided.
