An elegant George IV period centre writing table.
c1825.
This beautifully constructed table is of rectangular form, having cross-banding to the rounded corner top, over a marquetry inlaid frieze, incorporating a single drawer, which opens to reveal a fully fitted interior, with a sliding green-leather writing surface with storage well below. Flanked by compartments of varying sizes.

Having the most spectacular plum-pudding figured mahogany.
Original circular brass handles, with a later added ornate escutcheon.

In excellent antique condition. Minor small veneer repairs. Minor expected signs of age and use.
The mahogany has developed a rich colour and warm patina.
Very robust, solid, sturdy and strong.
