The top of mellow-coloured English figured walnut with some historic stains and marks .

The top fixed to the column by a circular turned collar . The underside of the collar stamped "C.Hindley & Sons , 134, Oxford St. London 42877" .
The London cabinet-making and furniture retail firm of Charles Hindley & Sons were active in the West End of London from 1817 to 1892. The firm supplied quality furniture appealing to both the burgeoning wealthy middle classes and aristocratic patrons .
In excellent original condition with a pleasing mellow colour, and honey hue patination.
