Description

A Fine Regency Nest of Four Tables with Specimen Veneered Tops attributable to Gillows of Lancaster. The largest table with maple centre and rosewood crossbanded edge. The next with rosewood centre and birdseye maple cross banding. The next with satinwood centre and amboyna cross banding. The smallest with chequer board top with maple and satinwood banded surround also having a concave satinwood undertier. Each top sitting on satinwood side supports all supported on ring turned bamboo pattern rosewood legs with cross stretchers to sides and back. The design for these tables is shown in the Gillows Estimate & Sketch Book.
