Description

GILLOWS of LANCASTER: a very fine quality early 19th century mahogany SOFA TABLE of superb colour and patina and in excellent condition.

The beautifully figured 'cleated' top has two hinged side flaps supported on twin lopers, whilst the frieze features two oak-lined drawers flanked by typical Gillows 'panelled' reserves to either end. It is supported on standard reeded ends joined by a (hidden) "flying" stretcher, terminating in original sabot cast brass castors.

A fine table with "clean" dry oak linings to the drawers and beautiful figuring to the top. Lovely! 62ins (157cms) open; 38ins (96cms) wide closed; 23.5 ins (59.5cms) deep front-to-back.
