A superb quality William IV freestanding library table or desk and made from finest figured mahogany circa 1830. The rectangular, cross banded top having rounded corners with a thumb moulded edge and top quality hand dyed replacement black leather with gold and blind tooling. Below is the attractive shaped frieze which conceals the 2 alternate solid mahogany lined and dovetailed drawers (see photo). The table is raised on beautifully carved ends in typical William IV style and is supported on platform ends with carved scroll feet, brass casters and a well turned joining stretcher.
