Regency Mahogany Cross Banded Antique Sofa Table

Dating from around 1830 in the Regency era, this wonderful sofa table has a beautifully figured top with rosewood crossbanded edge with two drop leaves above two oak lined frieze drawers. This stylish piece stands on an elegant central turned pedestal with four scrolled legs and decorative brass castors and has been finished all the way round so may be placed in the centre of the room. The mahogany has aged to a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
