Description

Wonderful Welsh side table, with a removable four-plank ash top with oak surround, above an oak base with a pair of side drawers and raised on square legs united by an H-stretcher.

This has been a well-used table, originally placed in the kitchen of a Snowdonia farmhouse and used for a multitude of domestic tasks as well as for eating. The top has been repaired with many patches and is pitted with old woodworm holes. I have rarely seen a piece with so much character.

Good colour and interesting worn surface.

(The legs have been tipped, presumably to raise the height to allow sitting, the height to the underside of the drawers being 60 cms)
