Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Georgian oak and elm provincial lowboy side table, circa 1760, displaying a lovely mellow colour and stunning grain configuration, in good condition. The table incorporates a twin-plank moulded elm top above three drawers, comprising a wide central drawer flanked by two narrow drawers. The drawers feature old replacement Queen Anne style handles and escutcheons. The pine-lined drawers are constructed with hand dovetail joints and the drawer fronts are decorated with thumb moulding. The central drawer incorporates a working lock, with working key. The drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame. Below, the table boasts a lovely shaped frieze and stands on four cabriole legs and pad feet. The table features the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional method.

Condition Report:
This table is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, drawer fronts and top, but nothing significant considering the age of the item (see photos). The drawers are in good working order and close flush to the frame. The drawers feature old replacement brass handles and escutcheons (possibly replaced in the Victorian period). The table features the original top and backboard to the rear; the frame has been constructed in the traditional joined construction method. As the table boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic mellow colour and patination. This table is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
