Mid C18th Anglo-Indian carved ebony miniature tripod table or candlestand.

Heavy quality ebony small-scale drinks table raised on a turned swollen column supported on carved tripod supports . The solid one-piece ebony top with a moulded profile edge.

Probably produced in the Galle District of Ceylon , a renowned centre for the production of ebony furniture and exotic wares under the trading control of the East India Company .

In excellent original condition with no damage or repairs. A practical and exotic addition for a country-house interior scheme.
