Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The drawer has its original lock and working key. The top is line inlaid and cross banded round the edge. There is a lift up screen to the rear of the table to protect the ladies makeup from the heat of the fire.

There is an old filled crack to the top which has been well done and doesn't stand out and the table originally would of had a bag underneath but it looks much better without it.
The table has been made from nicely grained mahogany and is a nice mellow colour with waxed finish.
