Description

This is an elegant 18th century card table in walnut with an attractive appearance and a fabulous tooled leather gaming interior. The substantial carved cabriole legs give an impressive look and the table is beautifully inlaid to the surface with satinwood. The table has a double gate action and opens to reveal the wonderful interior which has a tooled olive green leather cover in perfect condition and recessed gaming wells for each player. The table is over 250 years old, dating from around 1750 so has a good colour and nice patina, with usual age related marks and a couple of old veneer repairs that have been well done and blend in naturally. There is a useful drawer to the frieze with oak lining, inlaid detail and a central carved acanthus leaf. This is a good George II period piece which is still a most practical and useful table.

The measurements are 92 cms wide overall, 45 cms deep by 79 cms high. Opened out the the table surface measures 90 cms by 90 cms.
