James Ribbons Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
However, there is a small repair patch on the top of the base probably caused by the hinges. This is not detrimental to the piece. Also, there is an ageing crack on the bottom of the top which is hardly noticeable.
The colour and choice of timbers are exceptional.
