The Antique Partnership has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The top is inlaid with particulary nice star and tramline brass which is echoed on the front elevation. Brass lions paw castors.

Very unusual LOCKING TOP with original lock and Georgian iron key. (This provides a secure and secret place to store items). The base is decorated with tasteful ebony stringing and lozenges. This table is completely original with only the smallest losses and no restoration save for the replacement of the baize surface. The top swivels and folds out to form the card playing surface. The top has moved a little over the years which can be seen in the photographs taken of the sides.
Overall a very elegant table and a typically well made Regency piece.
