A fine quality late Regency or William IV metamorphic GAMES; SOFA & WRITING TABLE in excellent original condition.

The beautifully figured bow-ended top (containing drawers to either side) features a sliding centre section, which when removed reveals the original backgammon well. When this slide is turned over, the Chess and Draughts board can be found, inlaid with rosewood and satinwood.

It is supported on shaped turned and reeded uprights, joined by a central stretcher, leading to scrolled feet and original castors. Complete with period red-stained and natural bone chessmen. 34.5ins wide; 15.5ins deep.
