Description:
The table features a veneered mahogany top, with a figured mahogany veneered frieze, column and base. The table is raised on an octagonal tapered turned column, which is secured at the bottom to a large mouded circular tripod base, terminating on three small scroll toes. The table stands relatively low in height, therefore it would be ideal as a side table near seating. The table is solid in joint and ready to use. This table is completely original (i.e. the top and the base are not a marriage) and has a lovely original mellow colour and patination. It would be ideal as a side, lamp or wine table in any room in the house.
Condition Report:
This table is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and top, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item. The top and base are original to each other. The supporting column and pedestal are good original condition. Importantly, there are no breaks to the stem or legs, which is common with this type of table. The table sits on its original scroll toes. As the table boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic mellow colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
