Louis XV Kingwood Occasional Table

19th century
Description

Circa 1880, Louis XV Kingwood occasional table. The inlaid, serpentine-shaped top with cross banding and an ormolu mounted rim opens to reveal an inlaid interior. There are detailed Sevres style panels to the front and sides, depicting a series of figures in pastoral landscapes, and which are surrounded by ormolu mounts. It has a cross-banded, shaped apron leading on to similarly cross-banded and ormolu mounted legs which are united by a quarter veneered undershelf.
