Description

This is a really beautiful antique Anglo-Indian carved hardwood table which dates from around 1880. The piece is very special in regard to the quality and beauty of the carving to the hardwood.

The table top is quite magnificent; it is so deeply carved that the artist must have begun with timber that was over 2 inches thick.

Around the delightful border of the top are deeply and finely carved flowers and foliage, all in perfect order.

To the centre there is a very fine and intricate foliage pattern carved and an 8 pointed central medallion.

The base itself is very decorative with really pretty, finely carved panels of flowers to each section, raised above mihrab arch design legs.

The table is a very nice warm walnut in colour and is in excellent condition, it measures 60 cms high and 68 cms in diameter.
