Description:
The table comprises a two plank oak top with a single working drawer; decorated with a finely moulded edge and a single brass knob. The drawer is pine lined and hand dovetailed, with the original backboards. The frieze is decorated with elegant spandrels, which sit below the drawer and support the inside of the legs. The table is raised on simple tapering square legs. The table has been made using the traditional wooden peg construction and would have been designed for a country dwelling.
Condition Report:
This table is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and the top of the table, but nothing significant considering the age of the item (see photos). The drawer features the original hand dovetailed drawer lining. The drawer is in good working order and closes flush to the frame. As the table boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic mellow colour and patination. It is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
