Description:

Here is a stunning quality antique English Regency flame mahogany full size tilt top wine table, circa 1830, in fine original condition. The top is constructed of three pieces of solid top quality flame mahogany. The tilt top table features the original hinge and original working decorative cast brass-locking mechanism; this locks the table into place when horizontal. The original cast brass locking mechanism has been superbly made and denotes the quality of components used in the construction of this table. The table incorporates a good octagonal tapered two-stagecentral pillar, decorated with bead moulding on a cross-shaped base, terminated on its original bun feet. This table is completely original (i.e. the top and the base are not a marriage) without any breaks or damage and has fantastic colour and patination and would be ideal as a lamp or wine table in any room in the house.

Dimensions:

Height (unfolded) = 77.5cm or 30½” or 2ft 6½”

Height (folded) = 113.3cm or 44?” or 3ft 8?”

Diameter = 60.8cm or 24” or 2ft

Depth (folded) = 43.2cm or 17” or 1ft 5”

Condition Report:

This table is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The top and base are original to each other. The working hinges and brass locking mechanism are all original in excellent good condition. Importantly, there are no breaks to the stem or legs, which is common with this type of table. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic mellow colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
