Description

This is a stunning American Colonial influence mahogany sofa table with a wonderful colour and beautiful carved detail. The attractively shaped top has beautiful rich flame mahogany veneer with a fabulous colour and most attractive gadrooned edge to the surface and the two fall flaps. There has been a small area restored to the surface at the back edge of the veneered top, quite professinally done and does not detract, shown in photo 8. The frieze is fitted with two short drawers and the base is wonderfully carved in solid mahogany with Regency influenced animal claw feet raised on its original castors. The elegant turned spiral twist stretcher is mounted at either end to a lyre shape carved support with beautiful leaf carved detail. The table is a nice quality piece and a very useful size measuring 29" high 39" wide (65"extended) by 29" deep.
