Early C19th figured mahogany table of Empire design with a pleasing faded patina.

Smart mahogany centre or lamp table of free-standing form in the Empire style. Raised on empirical columnar supports terminating in rounded feet . The base joined by a cross stretcher with turned bowl ring centre.

All friezes with panelled sides, fitted with a single frieze drawer retaining its original cast gilt-brass ring handle. In excellent original 'country-house' condition, having achieved a pleasing consistent faded ,dry patina.

Superb understated and restrained classical Empire design ,and almost certainly English though of a usually European continental form . Wonderful selected grade of figured mahogany .

The faded figured top with minor blemishes and stains commensurate with use , but crucially with original surface and skin .
