The delightfully figured top swivels and opens to double its size revealing a storage compartment in the process. Once open, the green baize makes the ideal playing surface for cards or games. Below the top can be seen a deep frieze flanked by beautifully scrolled carvings. The table stands on an octagonal shaped pedestal with a quadriform base having scrolled feet which are finished with brass castors. The rosewood is a lovely warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
