Description

Circa 1820, George IV mahogany D-end dining table with 3 additional leaves: 1 single leaf and 2 leaves on a drop leaf. With a ribbed edge, stylish apron with string inlay and with each D-end standing on 4 elegant turned, fluted and tapering legs which finish on a raised toe. The 2 D-end tables can be used independent of the rest of the table. In the centre section there is a drop leaf table (the leaf is on one side only) and this stands on 6 similar legs. The 4 outside legs are hinged and on an arm, extending to carry the leaves and moving outwards from the side of the table so the legs do not get in the way. The leaves have the same ribbing as the top, and the apron features string inlay. Each of the leaves is held in position by cast brass clips and you can have numerous combinations up to a maximum of 3 metres. The table is mellow in colour, sturdy, clean and functional.
