Description

An unusual Victorian Hungarian ash and inlaid boxwood and ebony side table or writing table of fine quality.

This table consists of a finely figured top veneered in Hungarian ash with part ebonised moulding to the edge with a moulded back rail veneered in Hungarian ash and ebonsied mouldings.

This leads down to five drawers of fine quality inlaid with ebony and boxwood floral decoration with ash and ebonised turned knobs, the drawers being constructed of camphor wood which gives this piece of furniture additional quality.

To the top of the legs are scroll supports with inlaid roundels leading down to bold turned and tapered ash and ebonised legs terminating down to fine quality porcelain castors.

This is a very versatile piece and could be used for various purposes: writing table, side table, dressing table etc. and has a toughened glass top to protect the veneers.

This table is in very good condition, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
