Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The lower half of this comprises tripled turned columns, which leads to a triform base and carved cabriole legs with scrolled feet and original castors within. The top 17 x 22ins; 29ins high (43 x 56 x 73.5cms)
The quality of the carving here is truly spectacular, particularly to the 'knees' and the scroll feet suggesting work by Gillows' most famous carver, John Rigby.
