Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The table has a beautifully figured top with central removable leaf above four cabriole legs with pad feet and beautiful shell carvings. The matching four chairs are in the Queen Anne Design with a vase shaped back splat, splayed back legs and cabriole front legs with pad feet and again have beautifully carved shell motifs. The chairs have recently been upholstered in a cream leather and this dining set could seat four to six dinner guests. The walnut has aged to a warm rich golden shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
