Description:
Here is a fine quality antique Queen Anne style carved burr walnut rectangular coffee table with a glass top, circa 1920, in good original condition. The top consists of a stunning piece of burr walnut veneer, on a solid walnut frame and legs. The polish to the tabletop is protected by a useful glass sheet panel, which is secured in place by a conspicuous wooden gallery perimeter. The tabletop features a decorative floral carved moulded edge, with a serpentine form, above a shaped frieze. The table is supported by four prominent cabriole legs, which at the knees, feature elegant acanthus leaf carvings on pad feet.
This coffee table boasts a mellow brown burr walnut colour. As its boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
Condition Report:
This coffee table is in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There is a lovely mellow colour and patination to the burr walnut top and frame. As the table boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The table is constructed of solid walnut frame with a burr walnut veneer top. The floral carving to the moulding is intact. The removable shaped glass top is also in good condition and is free of any damage, scratches or chips. This item is solid in joint (does not wobble) and ready to use.
