George III Style Quartet of Inlaid Tables

1920 - 1940
Description

An unusual George III style quartet of Masonic mahogany and satinwood inlaid tables. Each of the tables have a satinwood cross banded edge, and with a further section inside with a canted corner. This section has a central motif of a crown, two cross axes and the Roman Numerals of XXXII indicating that the tables are of Masonic interest. Each of the tables have the same motif on them, and a small raised squat gallery. The thin tops are held on four elegant spider legs, and these have a shaped apron. This occurs across all of the tables. There is a stretcher on the back of the first 3 tables. At the base of the legs there is a cross stretcher and a simple raised foot, almost in the form of the trestle.
