An attractive and useful table made from mahogany, of the early type traditionally referred to as ''red walnut''.
The slightly oval top with two folding leaves with edge-moulding has a frieze drawer at one end and is raised on elegantly shaped cabriole legs terminating in unusual and well-carved hoof feet.
This table is illustrated in ''Welsh Furniture 1250-1950: A Cultural History of Craftsmanship & Design'' (Saer 2007), Volume 11 plate 720.
The very distinctive design of hoof foot is found on a number of exceptional pieces of the period from south Pembrokeshire.
