This is an impressive antique Jacobean style two-plank solid oak refectory joined trestle table, circa 1890, in good condition. Featuring a thick solid oak 2” two-plank top tied with cleated ends, the table is supported by prominent cup-and-cover bulbous turned pillars above sledge feet, connected by a central reeded low stretcher for added strength. The low stretcher allows for plenty of leg room under the table. This is a superbly made and heavily constructed table, which is solid in joint. Two-plank tops are more sought after than tables with three or four plank tops. The top is detachable for ease of transportation and access into smaller houses. The table seats six people.
The table boasts a rich warm mellow oak colour to the tabletop. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This table is in good condition. Nominal old use marks to the top, leading edges and table frame, but nothing significant considering the age of the item.
