French Side Table with Superb Cabriole Leg

A fine and stylish French side table, with extraordinary cabriole legs with a double curve. The table is made of pine and fruitwood with two single drawers and was probably used as a serving table as it is quite wide and high. The table is mostly fruitwood on the base with a pine top which might have been painted originally. The table dates to the mid nineteenth century and has a good pale colour. The handles are Edwardian period English replacements but really work with the design. The whole is in good solid country house condition. C.1850.
