The Antique Furniture Company has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The Joseph Fitter winding mechanism extends the table from 6ft allowing the additional leaves to be added in any combination to comfortably seat up to 12 people or 14 more cosily. With remains of paper Pratt & Prince retail label to the underside.

The attractive leaf holder also functions as a serving or side table, with a panelled front and sides and scrolling acanthus carved columns the right side opens to reveal green baize lined storage slots for the four leafs and a shelf above for the winder handle.

Both in very good condition, the table has been recently repolished using a traditional wax polish, there is a dark mark to the middle on one end and one leaf has a small dent on one corner edge. The leaf holder has marks consistent with age whilst the plinth has some scuffing and veneer loss. The green baize is most likely original.
