Welsh Oak Gateleg Table, Circa 1670

Description

An attractive and useful Welsh oak dining or occasional table, with a rectangular (almost square) top with a long drawer, over a base with gate action and finely-turned legs terminating in Braganza-style feet and united by stretchers.

Carmarthenshire, west Wales, circa 1670.

Height: 27.25 inches; 69.5 cms

Width; 36 inches; 91.5 cms

Depth: 11 inches; 28 cms Extending to 43 inches; 109 cms.

(Restoration; Replaced board to one side of top (3.5 inches; 8.5 cms); and possibly replaced or re-used board to other side (6.75 inches; 17.25 cms). Possibly replaced drawer front.)
